The Historical Archive Torres de la Llosa belongs to the Museum of Natural History "Dr. Carlos Alberto Torres de la Llosa "which is a dependency of the Secondary Education Council.
The museum is located in Eduardo Acevedo 1427, in Montevideo, Uruguay and integrates the building today houses the Institute Alfredo Vásquez Acevedo (IAVA).
This documentary contains materials generated during the period when Torres de la Llosa served as honorary director of the museum, between 1920 and 1959, the year of his death.
Some documents come from the museum's activities, such as correspondence issued and received. Others have to do with the performance of Torres de la Llosa as a teacher, inspector, consultant on curriculum issues, an expert on issues related to the teaching of natural sciences and author of textbooks. There is also material on their work outside of Secondary, as chairman of the National Commission for Protection of Indigenous Fauna and Director of Municipal Zoo Montevideo.
